Inscription Anniversary Celebration

On Satuday, July 7th, the Joggins Fossil Institute will be celebrating the anniversary of our inscription on the UNESCO World Heritage List!

The Joggins Fossil Cliffs was inscribed on the World Heritage List in 2008, for our Outstanding Universal Value - this site is home to the most complete record in the world of terrestrial life in the Pennsylvanian Coal Age of Earth history.

To be inscribed on the World Heritage List is the greatest honour that can be bestowed on a site. To celebrate this day we will offering free, 30 minute guided tours for Season Pass holders, providing a delicious anniversary cake, and hosting the official opening of artist Robert Lyon's exhibition. This special exhibit features artwork by Lyon as well as creations by Katherine Hicks-Lyon. More information about Robert Lyon's artwork, as well as t-shirts, jewellery, and children's books can be found by visiting his website (http://www.robertlyongraphics.ca/), or at his store in Sackville New Brunswick.

Come for a piece of cake and stay for a tour of the beautiful Joggins Fossil Cliffs and experience why we are a UNESCO World Heritage Site!
