CaGBC lists Joggins as sustainable site to visit

Looking for a green building and sustainable site to visit this summer? Well according to the Canada Green Building Council’s LEED team the Joggins Fossil Centre is a must visit. The team, responsible for approving sites as being Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certified, included the Joggins Fossil Centre on the list of sustainable sites to visit this year.

The Joggins Fossil Centre recently received Gold LEED status. The Centre boasts a wide array of green features, a few of which include:
·         Photo electric solar panels
·         Insulated green roof (an actual lawn grows on it!)
·         Locally sourced building materials
·         Solara glazed windows for heat retention/distribution

Thank you CaGBC for including us on the list!
