Another Fun (and FREE!) Day Camp at Joggins Fossil Centre!

Last week we held another day-long kids' camp at the Centre. Over 20 children from the local area were able to participate in learning about fossils, fun games, and we another visit from the ever-popular Sparky the Fire Dog! These camps have been so fun and popular that we plan to continue offering free day camps next March Break and summer. Many thanks are due to the Joggins Volunteer Fire Department for their continued support!

Visitor Finds Fabulous Fern!

Karen Stewart, a recent visitor to the site, made a lovely find on the beach. She was with a Joggins Fossil Institute Interpreter (Sophie Prayal-Brown) who is listed as a field crew member on the Intstitute's Heritage Research Permit and the fossil was able to be collected.

Visitors can be important contributors to the science here at Joggins and we encourage that visitors who find something they think may be of interest to:

1) take a photo of the fossil;
2) make a note of where this fossil is on the beach or in the cliffs;
3) seek out an Interpreter (dressed in orange) to let them know about the find.
