World Oceans Day

Today, June 8th, is World Oceans Day. Proposed in 1992 by Canada at the Earth Summit in Rio de Janeiro and the sister to Earth Day, World Oceans Day is an opportunity to celebrate the Earth’s oceans, the products it provides, its intrinsic value, and ways to conserve and protect it. The theme for 2011 is “Youth: The Next Wave for Change”. For more info, please visit www.worldoceansday.org.
